A listed business can also sell new additional shares at a later point via other offers, such as
through rights issues or follow-on offers. They can also buy their shares back or delist them.
The stock exchange enables transactions of this kind.
Different market and sector-specific indices, such as the S&P 500 or NASDAQ 100 index,
are also generated and retained by the stock exchange, which provides a metric to monitor the
performance of the overall market. The Stochastic Momentum Index and Stochastic
Oscillator are the other methods.
All news, updates, and financial reports related to a listed business that can normally be
viewed on their official websites are also maintained by the stock exchanges. A stock
exchange also promotes many other transaction-related practices at the company level.
Profitable companies, for example, can reward investors by paying dividends that typically
come from a portion of the earnings of the company. The exchange retains all such data and
can, to a certain degree, facilitate its processing.
